Compass Carpentry and Compass Inspections LLC are small businesses in Western New York and are owned and operated by Dave Chrostowski.

Dave began honing his skills at a young age, working side-by-side with his father as they remodeled his childhood home—learning to do things the right way from the very beginning. After getting his B.S. in Business Management from SUNY Geneseo, Dave enrolled in various independent woodworking courses where he further refined his skills. He founded his carpentry business in 2010 and enjoys sharing his craft with homeowners throughout WNY.

Custom Carpentry

Dave’s experiences working in general contracting and home remodeling have taught him to appreciate the finer qualities of furniture creation and custom carpentry. While Dave’s skills are many, his heart is in fine woodworking.

Licensed Home Inspections

Compass Inspections is fully insured and licensed to conduct home inspections by the State of New York.

The licensing process requires the completion of 140 approved hours of training. Of those hours, 40 hours are unpaid field-based inspections conducted in the presence of and under direct supervision of a Home Inspector licensed by NYS. Dave is always taking additional training workshops every year to broaden and deepen his knowledge of home systems.
